Description
Weeding consists of removing weeds that develop among seedlings and plants that have already emerged. Tools such as the hoe, hoe and cultivator are very useful for this.
Hoeing consists of aerating the soil by loosening the spaces between the rows of seeded or planted soil.
The combination of these two actions will ensure a healthy vegetable garden, as they help to :
destroy weeds
reduce water evaporation,
maintain good soil structure,
allow air and water to penetrate,
prevent the formation of a crust on the surface of the soil, which encourages water to rise by capillary action.
Depending on the size and nature of the areas to be weeded, you can use different manual weeding tools: the flat weeder, the manual oscillating hoe, the positive and negative crow’s foot, the pointed and rounded triangle hoe.
