Compost fork

Description

The compost fork is lightweight, with a short handle (105 cm) and a grip.

It is practical and very useful for home composting. The compost fork is made of galvanised hardened steel.

It lets you mix household waste (the “green”) with shredded material – dead leaves – straw – cardboard: (the “brown”) with little effort in order to reach an optimum balance.

This daily mixture can be used to preserve GOOD LIVING CONDITIONS for the “workers”, that is to say the micro-organisms which are thus able to carry out all the work of decomposition.

The compost fork is therefore essential for a correct and efficient use of your compost where the balance BROWN – GREEN – WATER – AIR is important for the transformation of your waste.

Whatever soil you have, it is essential to provide it with organic matter. This helps to loosen and aerate the soil, improves the water and nutrient retention capacity and provides material that attracts micro-organisms, fungi, earthworms, etc. which improve the health of vegetables. If they are well fed, they can defend themselves better against attacks.

You can add raw organic matter (leaves, undecomposed manure) at least one month before sowing or ready-to-use compost just before planting. Compost is the result of the decomposition of garden and kitchen waste. It is the core of vegetable garden fertilisation.

If you don’t have the opportunity to produce homemade compost, because you don’t have a garden or just a small yard or if you live in a flat without access to the outdoors, you can buy it in a bag or have whole lorryloads delivered to your house.
